Welcome to Madgoose Press!

These pages are being setup to disseminate and discuss information, ideas and projects related to historical methods of papermaking.

My interests currently are confined mostly to the production of paper relevant to fifteenth and sixteenth century Europe but with few changes this paper is relevant to a much broader period up to a span of nigh unto a thousand years. Papermaking technology didn't significantly change from the twelfth century until the middle of the nineteenth century.

I'll also be adding information related to Medieval Printing. Things like woodblock printing, printing presses and Medieval playing cards .

If there is something in particular that you're looking for in relation to papermaking history, printing (either via press or woodblock) or medieval playing cards please feel free to drop me an email. I love to ramble endlessly about any of it! (My emails at the bottom of the page)
